Successful Recertification of the Breast Health Center at the Goldenes Kreuz Private Hospital

After a two-day audit, the Austrian Certification Commission (“ÖZK”) experts gave the Breast Health Center at the Goldenes Kreuz Private Clinic top marks. The Goldenes Kreuz Private Hospital is pleased that in the end of November 2023 the international certification of its breast health center has been reconfirmed for another three years. The requirements for the “Doc Cert” seal of quality are high and correspond to national and international requirements for excellent patient care. The required quality criteria must be proven annually in a quality report.

After a two-day audit in October 2023, the experts from the Austrian Certification Commission (“ÖZK”) now came to the following conclusion: “The care model of the breast health center is well established in the house and works excellently. The medical performance in the areas of diagnostics, therapy and aftercare as well as the technical equipment correspond to the high standards of a modern center. The interdisciplinary collaboration between the treatment partners is very well organized.” This evaluation is based on on-site visits, interviews with the specialists and employees, on evaluation of the implemented processes as well as the clinical documentation for the samples viewed.

“The recertification and the excellent assessment by the experts confirm our efforts to offer our patients the best medical treatment according to the latest scientific standards as well as comprehensive personal care,” emphasizes senior physician Dr. Silvia Artner, Head of the Breast Health Center. “For us, the holistic approach and tailor-made treatment of women with breast cancer includes, in addition to the medical aspects, integrated personal care and assistance during this difficult time.” Quick appointments and swift medical clarification reduce the phase of uncertainty and fear among affected women to a minimum.

At the interdisciplinary tumor board, a weekly conference, experts from the fields of gynecology, surgery, medical oncology, radiology and radiation therapy jointly discuss the best treatment option for each patient. This happens both before an operation, in order to discuss the initial treatment together, as well as after a surgical procedure, in order to coordinate further therapy. During the breast health consultation, women diagnosed with breast cancer can receive comprehensive medical advice. The center's specially trained breast care nurses provide personal care and support for the patients.
